Henry of Hank's Hauser Spas
and Gazebos, gave out 78 BONUS keywords at the first remote(most participation
on any station) DOES believe in the program and tells his Regent sales rep he'll
likely do another remote with a bonus keyword soon.
Jim, this is really an interesting
situation. I talked with the sales department last week, explaining to the reps
they have to talk with their clients about the remote location keywords and
its implications:
-- capitalizing on the increased
traffic
-- initiating conversations
-- giving players a reason to stay at the business
We're starting to see some
changes because of our sales force and clients who starting to "get it."
A cellular company which
has been buying both 98 Country and the Mix is doing a better job of going up
to players who come into their store and are initiating conversations. And the
players are saying things like "Actually, I AM interested in this, that
or the other thing."
The Mix(12+ 1.8) has a more
dramatic experience to report. The station was doing a 2-hour remote for a tanning
place from 10 to noon on Saturday. The big CHR in town, KCLD(12+ 6.7), was doing
a 4-hour remote at the same time, at another location for this business. In
the 2-hours the Mix was on remote, they'd sold at least three $100-$150 packages
and had about 40 people come in for keywords. The KCLD remotes didn't sell any
packages at the other location and didn't have nearly the traffic the Mix remotes
brought in.
Oh, and I'm excited that
98 Country will be at a grand opening for a Quiznos sub shop in the northern
Twin Cities metro later this week with a bonus keyword. The store is about an
hour from St. Cloud, but should satisfy some of our northern Twin Cities burb
listeners who've complained about not having remote keywords closer to them.
Slowly, but surely, clients
are seeing the benefits of these loyalty programs and why OUR REMOTES are actually
producing results.
At this point, we're giving
remote keywords at all paid remotes broadcasts and van stops. We may charge
for this as an add-on in the future. Or, we could continue as we are to show
why our remotes are more effective than the competitions'. Ultimately, we'll
get more dough.
Suggestions?
One other thing, we're going
to add more prizes to the 98 Country prize vault prior to Thursday's auction.
Lots of smaller things, maybe some bigger things. I'll let you know when we
get them up there.
