With no playoff prospects, on a September week night without a fireworks display, the Delmarva Shorebirds had NO chance of setting the largest single game attendance record. Until Cat Country radio came to the rescue of this Baltimore Orioles farm team. The radio listener would receive a bonus keyword at the radio tent. They'd were also incentivized to watch the scoreboard for additional keywords thereby helping concession business.

640 people showed up and put the Shorebirds over the top for the largest single night attendance in it's history. Go run a newspaper ad or make a tv/cable buy and see if you can prompt 640 fannies into seats.

Is satellite radio a threat to terrestrial? Not with this kind of marketing!
