TIVO......... for radio? Just what radio Needs!

Satellite Radio's launch has been something to watch. When the NAB spun it's 'Who's gonna pay for something they can get for FREE' mantra in New Orleans/2001, they had no idea Howard Stern would jump ship one day. Satellite radio, if nothing else, has let the world know just how much people love their radio and the lengths they'll go to to listen unemcumbered. However, even if Sat Radio ramps eventually to 25 million+, it will have no impact on local terrestrial radio excepting some flagship sports broadcasters. So there is much smoke in Satellite radio's universe as regards to our extinction.

BUT........................... todays Press Release is another story. Griffin Technology(http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/radioshark/) announced a 'TIVO' type device that allows a listener to play back their favorite radio shows. And when they play them back, the 30 second mortgage and car commercials will never be heard and the client knows it! Make NO mistake about this! TIVO is giving FITS to television producers who are looking at a skyrocketing adoption rate. Millions are coming home each night to see the content..............................and NOT the commercial.

The market will always correct itself when applicable technology rears it's head. If you think an advertiser perceives now that listeners are punching out on long stop sets, do the math if this $69 item (no monthly fee like Tivo) ...............adopts in a big viral way.

START INSERTING MORE KEYWORDS IN THE STOP SETS.......and maybe a little more value for those that are a needle in a long flight haystack. Advertisers will like the placement and figure out fast that the rewind button will enable listeners to sift through spots................................. looking for the points.
