CLIENT BULLETIN: FACEBOOK, TWITTER, and FLICKR Interactivity Comes To You
|
|
If you don't think dinosaurs are still roaming the earth, take a look at the newspaper industry. It can happen to radio unless we continually extend our web presence because that's where the action is. A loyalty program conceived 10 years ago is only relevant today if it can opt in a user and keep them
engaged in different cultures for extended time spent viewing. Auctions and raffles are only a bedrock for a new experience of interaction.
We are currently rewriting our entire loyalty program seamless to 3.0 interactive environment. It will allow greater ease of use but add another layer of activity to keep a user on your site and an advertiser in front of their eyes. 3.0 will have a full suite of video tools with advertising on each platform:
1.The ability to send video emails to friends.
2.The ability to video conference up to four friends
3.The ability to Instant Message ala Skype
4.The ability to blog.
More than half of the population of the United States resides on Facebook. 35+ is the fastest growing demographic. Twitter is the hottest instant messaging service on the planet. It makes no sense for a radio station to try and compete with them. What does make sense is to recognize that many of these social network users are loyal listeners. So you want to be a convenient connection for them by creating easy access. A second suite of tools will do the following:
1.SHARE YOUR VIDEO EMAIL WITH YOUR FACEBOOK FRIENDS AND TWITTER FOLLOWERS.
Check this out. Now you can send your personal video message's to any email address including Facebook and Twitter with a button click.
2.LET MORE PEOPLE KNOW THAT YOU'RE VIDEO CHATTING THRU THE RADIO LOYALTY PROGRAM.
Let all your Facebook friends know that you are video chatting on the station loyalty program by simply clicking on the Facebook/Twitter button in the chat window.
3.SHOW FRIENDS YOUR PHOTO'S WHILE VIDEO CHATTING.
If you have an interesting photo to share, simply click on' view photos' and add the link from your Flickr or Picasa account. Your photos will magicly appear in the chat window.
This is the functionality that users want in any interactive website and a radio station is no different. This is also where the caterpillar becomes the butterfly and a logical next step in the evolution of a radio loyalty program. As usual, your competitors will NOT have this model for at least one year. We will provide this service to all client stations in May/June 09, as part of your regular service.
